Thinking of Taking Bifröst’s New Entrepreneurship Program in English? Here’s What They’re Not Telling You

A New Door Opens — But Where Does It Lead?

Bifröst University just announced an English-language entrepreneurship program aimed at immigrants and newcomers to Iceland. It runs from August to November, grants 18 university credits, and brings in names like Fida Abu Libdeh to teach real business experience.

On paper, it sounds like exactly what many of us have been waiting for: an open invitation to start something new in a country that can feel impossible to navigate.

But before you rush to enroll, I want to offer a different perspective—one rooted in lived experience, not just classroom frameworks.

What the University Offers — and What It Can’t

Let’s be clear: this program may be helpful. It gives you

  • Basic tools in business development

  • A network of other participants

  • A sense of legitimacy through an academic institution

  • Exposure to guest lecturers and Icelandic market structure

But here’s what it doesn’t give you:

  • Real-time feedback when your business flops

  • Emotional support when you’re burning out

  • A way to monetize your skills today, not someday

  • Street-level strategy for surviving as an immigrant without safety nets

My Journey: From Invisible to Unpromoted

I built my course and platform because I was tired of being treated like an outsider—too foreign, too ambitious, too unconventional for the local system. No university could show me how to:

  • Say “no” to being underpaid

  • Navigate the cultural blind spots

  • Build real visibility and income without Icelandic roots

That’s why I created “Unpromoted” and “Break the System”—courses that skip the fluff and teach you how to build visibility, leverage, and income even if you’ve been written off.

The Real Reason This Matters (And Why Now)

We’re not just talking about a new course or another certificate.
We’re talking about the choice to stop waiting and start building.

And maybe it’s no accident this conversation is happening under the July 10 full moon—a time when truth comes to the surface, old illusions break, and new chapters begin.

Because some doors open in universities.
But some open when you finally decide to take back control.

You don’t need a paper to prove you’re ready.
You need traction. Power. Presence.
And a roadmap that starts where you actually are—not in a classroom script.
